Going on a Trip

I had this really elaborate post about the hurricane and me going away to Disneyland for a few days, but that was never posted. My bad. Now you all get to read this instead.

So I have packed up my whole life, put most of it in storage, and now I am in Greenville again. Well, actually I’m up at camp in NC. I have been working at my Marine unit for the week in order to make up August drill. I did not drill in August because I would have to make the trek up to SC then do it again all while I was trying to work my tail off at this internship. It worked better to spend as much time as I could in my position at work since my time would already be short. The end of this makeup drill runs right into the start of my active duty orders.

I am not going to be sharing great details about my mobilization here, but you can know that I am not crossing the Atlantic Ocean. Orders start on Sunday, so it will be good to get into the grind and get paid.

It was very bittersweet to be leaving Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts. We are already a family at Disney, but your location is home and your peers are your family members. It was bittersweet to leave family. I received many hugs from our housekeepers and I was even treated to a couple meals by my peers. Thank you! The time preparing to leave has been very hectic as I normally work 45+ hours and I had to fit in moving my life out of my apartment. Crazy.

Last day of work

Huge thanks to those who helped me move here and there. It was very helpful. Thank you to my peers, leaders, and Cast for making me a part of the Yacht and Beach family. I am blessed.

So here’s a basic rundown of what the Disney journey looks like. I am going to be away for about a year. Disney has me on a Military Leave of Absence which means I will be able to come back to work. I don’t have my apartment. My stuff is in storage. I am selling an island, a couch, and a bed. I’m in Greenville for now and will still be in the states for another month or so. That’s all I can think of for now. Hope that was helpful.

Oh yeah, and I had some great company for my birthday last month. The Mairs stopped by and we hung out.

Ya’ll. . . I found this song/video on YouTube and I can’t get over it. It’s called “Death Was Arrested” sung by North Point InsideOut. I already get the feels when I think about the freedom I have in Christ, but then when you get to hear tons of believers rejoicing in that same freedom together in song, it is powerful.

Our Savior displayed on a criminal’s cross.
Darkness rejoiced as though Heaven had lost.
But then Jesus arose with our freedom in hand!
That’s when death was arrested and my life began!

Then after that chorus everyone comes together and sings:

Oh, we’re free, free
Forever we’re free
Come join the song of all the redeemed
Yes, we’re free, free
Forever, amen!
When death was arrested and my life began!

You’ll want to start at 2:00. Here’s is the video/song I’m talking about:

Well, not so sure what else to add to this. If you have questions about my mobilization, please feel free to shoot me an email or something.

Thank you for all your support. Thank you to those who continue to pray. I am thankful for each and every one of you and for the support you have shown me. Looking forward to yet another adventure. Until next time: Be strong. Love God. Love others.
