Six Years

It has been six years since I left Greenville for a little place called Parris Island. It was at Parris Island that I spent three months earning the title of United States Marine. I feel like I say this every year, but it is hard to believe this much time has already passed by. The cool thing about these past six years is that I have been able to do a lot of cool things and go to a lot of cool places I otherwise would not have done or gone to on my own dime. Thanks, Marine Corps!

Now that I have reached six years on my Marine Corps contract, I am able to stop drilling (after deployment). I am currently planning on staying in so that means I will continue to drill, however, I can sign up to be non-obligated. This basically means I can go to the Individual Ready Reserves (IRR) whenever and I will go through my two years and be done.

So I am currently conducting pre-deployment training here in the states before we head out on deployment. It’s been going well! When we get away and get settled I will let you know where you can send my a Christmas presents.

Something I am super stoked about coming up is Thanksgiving. I found out we have a 96 during the holiday and I will be able to get to Orlando very easily. Going to Orlando can only mean one thing. . . Walt Disney World! I am excited to get a small group of Marines to Walt Disney World for a fun time and, of course, Christmas stuff! I was bummed that I would miss Christmas stuff around property, but this certainly was a pleasant surprise. Look out for pictures and stuff.

Alright, I think that’s it for now. Just a quick update for all you people who care. If you have any questions or anything then feel free to comment, text me, or shoot me a message. Until next time: Be strong. Love God. Love others.
